CMinCE: Condensed Matter in Central-Europe

Related sessions will take place from Thursday to Friday.

ÖPG and SPS, in collaboration with the Central European Initiative (Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland), recognize Central Europe’s immense potential to become a dynamic, competitive, and attractive hub for scientists and high-tech industries. To support this vision, the upcoming ÖPG-SPS Meeting 2025 (August 18–22, 2025, Vienna) will feature condensed matter physics sessions organized as a joint effort under the theme Condensed Matter in Central Europe (CMinCE). This joint initiative aspires to become a tradition and eventually expand to other branches of physics. The event is also endorsed by the Croatian Physical Society.

These sessions aim to bring together researchers across condensed matter fields and career stages, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and networking. By strengthening scientific synergy, we seek to showcase Central Europe as a thriving environment where young researchers can grow and make important contributions to science.

CMinCE will feature dedicated oral sessions for keynote, invited and contributed talks, along with a specialized Poster Session fully embedded within the ÖPG-SPS program. To maximize interaction - especially among early-career researchers - CMinCE posters will be presented in a dedicated space to encourage active engagement and networking.
